NBC Reportedly Talking TV Deal With Casey Anthony

By Brian Flood

Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of murdering her daughter back in 2011, has met with senior NBC producers to discuss a possible TV deal, according to the New York Post.

The Post, which is typically negative when it comes to NBC News, says that Anthony was accompanied from Florida on a first-class flight by Don Wood, an NBC producer who also writes and produces reality programming.

Sources confirmed to Page Six that Anthony then met with NBC News’ top booker, Matt Zimmerman, at the Peacock Network’s 30 Rock headquarters. Zimmerman is the senior booking producer for “Today,” but insiders say he oversees a booking unit that also works across all NBC News shows.

A rep for NBC News declined to comment, but an insider said, “News divisions meet with people in the news all the time — as of now, nothing is planned.”

Anthony is reportedly bankrupt and seeking a nice payday for her first sit-down interview since the acquittal. Maybe Wood is thinking she’s a candidate for a reality show? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

UPDATE: An NBC News exec tells TVNewser that no interview is planned.
