NBC’s Peacock Productions is producing a documentary about the U.S. Navy’s Seal Team Six for Discovery Channel. “Secrets of Seal Team Six” will premiere Sunday July 10 on the cable network. Among the interviewees is the team’s founder, Dick Marcinko.
“There’s a group that will kick ass and save you,” says Marcinko in the program.
Discovery has seen success by ordering quick-turnaround documentaries based on current events. Its documentary ion the death of Osama Bin Laden drew higher ratings than similar programs on the cable news channels.
Likewise, Peacock Productions has found a solid niche in producing these sorts of documentaries. Last week we learned that the production company would be documenting the recovery of chimpanzee attack victim Charla Nash.
