NBC News’ Twitter account incorrectly tweeted this morning that the missing Detroit boy found alive in his father’s basement had been found dead.
“Missing boy found dead in Detroit father’s basement after 11 days missing,” read the the original tweet, which was taken down quickly, and replaced with:

“The @NBCNews account inadvertently tweeted incorrect information this morning,” an NBC News spokesperson tells TVNewser. “The correct information went out less than two minutes later and the original tweet was deleted to avoid confusion.”
