Another TV newser has been fired as a result of misconduct in the workplace, and this time it’s someone behind the scenes.

TVNewser has learned that NBC News’s senior director of news engineering and technical operations Larry Gaetano was fired today after the network performed an investigation into his workplace behavior.

Gaetano was a 20-year veteran of NBC News who was most recently based in the network’s Washington DC bureau.

According to a source, concerns about Gaetano’s behavior in the workplace were raised a few weeks ago. The network investigated and ended up acting on those concerns. While the initial investigation didn’t rise to the level of termination, we’re told that new info recently trickled in, which was sufficient enough for the network to determine that Gaetano could no longer serve in his role.

An NBC News spokesperson confirmed the move.

This is just the latest in an avalanche of firings that have come as a result of media outlets looking into allegations of employee harassment and misconduct in the workplace. This particular firing comes more than a week after NBC News fired its former star anchorMatt Lauer.
