Graphics mistakes are a part of life in the world of TV news. Usually it is a simple misspelling of a name, or a wrong title for an interviewee. Sometimes, however, the mistakes can be a little more embarrassing.
On “NBC Nightly News” last night, a map of the U.S./Canada border was shown on screen, with poor New Hampshire apparently having been annexed by Vermont:

Meanwhile, on CNN, a story about Egypt featured a graphic… with the flag of Syria:
