NBC “Far From Naming A Successor” For News Prez Neal Shapiro

Neal Shapiro’s request to leave NBC News “caught the network by surprise,” Variety’s Michael Learmonth reports. “No deal has been struck so far, and the net is far from naming a successor.”

The story notes that Shapiro’s depature throws the upcoming Nightly News staffing moves “into limbo:” “Executive producer Steve Capus was set to be promoted to fill the post of retiring exec VP Bill Wheatley.
