NASCAR Comes In Third

By Chris Ariens

It appears viewers preferred a “Trail of Suspicion” over a race around the track. The premiere of ABC News’ “NASCAR in Primetime” finished third at 10pm Wednesday night. Preliminary numbers show Dateline’s “Trail of Suspicion” came in first with a 2.2/7 (adults 18-49) with 6.6 million total viewers. A rerun of CSI: NY came in second with 2.1/6 (adults 18-49). NASCAR had a 1.2/4 (adults 18-49).

NBC’s press release on the Wednesday ratings, and for last week’s Dateline Monday, is after the jump…

On the heels of placing 12th in the Nielsen ratings for the week of Aug. 6, “Dateline NBC” marked its sixth straight Wednesday win (including one tie) [Wednesday] night in adults 18-49, blowing out ABC News’ debut of “NASCAR in Primetime” and a rebroadcast of CBS’ “CSI: NY.” Additionally, the Monday edition of “Dateline NBC” has added four time-period victories this summer in adults 18-49 in that 10 p.m. hour opposite CBS’ “CSI: Miami” encore telecasts and ABC’s “Supernanny” rebroadcasts.
