Murdoch Apologizes for ‘Real Black President’ Remark

Rupert Murdoch, the executive chairman of News Corporation, apologized Thursday morning for suggesting that President Obama is not a “real black president.”

In a tweet from his verified account, Murdoch said “apologies! No offence meant.”

The original comment, also made via Twitter, suggested that Dr. Ben Carson might be “a real black President who can properly address the racial divide” and sparked massive commentary on the social media platform–and on cable news.
