Mumbai Ratings

By Chris Ariens

The terror attacks on Mumbai were covered in a stop-start fashion over three days last week on the U.S. cable news channels. By the time the siege had ended the viewership was split.

Fox News drew the most Total Viewers (sign-on to sign-off) on Wednesday and Friday, while CNN drew the most Total Viewers on Thursday. CNN won all three days in the A25-54 demo.

On Thursday morning and Friday morning, Fox & Friends won in Total Viewers while CNN’s American Morning came in first with younger viewers. “Our show thrives on breaking-news situations, and these ratings are the latest evidence of that,” says EP Janelle Rodriguez.
