Muir Becomes Anchor of WN Saturday

“I’m pleased to announce that David Muir has been named anchor of World News Saturday and a co-anchor of Primetime,” David Westin announced in a memo to staffers today. “He will also continue as a NY-based correspondent for our broadcasts and platforms including World News with Charles Gibson, GMA, and Nightline.”

“David has excelled at every assignment we’ve given him,” Westin wrote. “From international conflicts to tragedies here at home, David’s strength is an ability to connect our audience with the stories he’s reporting. That exceptional talent makes him the ideal anchor for the Saturday broadcast and a strong addition to Primetime.”

Muir joined ABC in 2003 as anchor of World News Now…
