Gen. Colin Powell’s endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama on Meet the Press last week gave the program its highest rating in Total Viewers since President George W. Bush’s appearance on February 8, 2004.
Week-to-week, every program grew in viewers except CBS’ Face the Nation. 2nd place in Total Viewers was ABC’s This Week, which had its best advantage over CBS in more than five years. In the Washington D.C. market, however, ABC was in 4th place, with CBS in 2nd and FOX News Sunday in 3rd place.
In the A25-54 demo, NBC was first, followed by ABC, CBS and FOX.
The Tom Brokaw-moderated MTP averaged 6,060,000 Total Viewers, compared to 3,400,000 for ABC, 2,870,000 for CBS and 1,540,000 for FOX.
