MSNBC’s Ed Schultz Trial Set to Begin in May

A case against MSNBC’s Ed Schultz  is going to trial.

Schultz is being sued by Michael Queen, a former Washingon, D.C.-based NBC staffer, who claims the MSNBC personality didn’t properly compensate him when he landed his TV gig. The trial begins on May 11, four years after the suit was first filed, and could last as long as six days.

Schultz’s lawyers botched an effort to seal public records, despite claiming they were confidential, according to the Daily Caller. An emergency hearing today resulted in Judge Beryl Howell denying the motion to keep the records private.

Schultz’s lawyers called decision not to seal them years ago an “inadvertent” error, but Howell didn’t agree. “This horse has clearly left the barn,” Judge Howell said.
