MSNBC Reports Fake News about Fox News

By A.J. Katz

In a segment focusing on Donald Trump’s potential conflicts of interest, MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle misreported some information about Fox News and the president-elect.

At 9:36 a.m. this morning, Ruhle said, “does he (Trump) need to be eating only in Trump restaurants, staying only in Trump hotels? Think about the hotel in Washington now. The RNC is having their Christmas party there. Fox News had their Christmas party there. Doesn’t that feel a little hanky?”

The problem with that statement is Fox News has yet to have its 2016 Christmas party. Not only that, but the network is planning on having it at the Liaison Hotel Capitol Hill, not at the Trump International Hotel in D.C. This was confirmed by a Fox News spokesperson.

*UPDATE: At 2:35 p.m. ET, Ruhle said the following live on-air: “This is some serious business that I need to share. I need to apologize to the audience. Earlier today in a segment, I stated that the Fox network held their holiday party at Trump’s D.C. hotel. I was wrong. We have since learned that neither Fox nor an affiliate held any party. I stand corrected. I apologize for the error. The mistake entirely my error. I wish all my friends at Fox a very happy holiday no matter where you have your party.”
