MSNBC Fires Back After Trump Claims Abortion Remarks Were Edited

In an interview on Fox News Thursday evening, Donald Trump accused MSNBC of editing key parts of a town hall interview with Chris Matthews that has led to heavy criticism of the Republican presidential front-runner.

In the interview Wednesday with Matthews, Trump said “there has to be some form of punishment” for women who have abortions. The campaign has since described the comments as a mis-statement by the candidate, and on Fox News, Trump said his meaning was lost due to editing. “This is a long discussion and they just cut it out.”

MSNBC released the following statement to TVNewser following Trump’s comments:

“The town hall interview with Donald Trump was taped in advance and then aired in its entirety. Absolutely no part of the exchange between Trump and Chris Matthews was edited out.”
