MSNBC Exec Shannon High Leaving for Peacock Productions

By Chris Ariens

Shannon High, who joined MSNBC nearly three years ago as managing editor of the news network’s daytime and weekend programming and who last summer moved to launching and overseeing Dylan Ratigan’s show, is leaving dayside.

Sources tell TVNewser High is moving to NBC News’ Peacock Productions which produces original and re-purposed programs for MSNBC and outside clients.

High was brought in in September 2007 after a career in local news, most recently VP at Miami’s CBS duopoly WFOR/WBFS. Less than two years into her MSNBC appointment, she was effectively replaced by another local news alum, longtime NBC staffer Yvette Miley who oversaw news at Miami’s WTVJ-NBC6.

High’s time with Ratigan has been described by a source as “turbulent.” TVNewser hears a formal announcement is expected next week.
