MSNBC Adds Trump Event With Scarborough, Brzezinski

MSNBC has announced a town hall meeting Wednesday night with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, set to air live at 8 p.m. ET. The event, in South Carolina and featuring questions from South Carolina voters, will be moderated by Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

The event–part of a series of one-on-one conversations with the candidates that will also include a 7 p.m. ET special with John Kasich and Chris Matthews–will likely focus attention on questions raised about Scarborough and Brzezinski’s relationship with Trump.

MSNBC was forced to release a statement clarifying a visit the two hosts made to Trump’s hotel suite the night of the New Hampshire primary. A CNN media reporter had clashed with Scarborough over a report of the visit, with Scarborough accusing the reporter of “lying.”

Earlier that day, Trump himself had commented about his fondness for the MSNBC hosts, even describing them as “supporters,” though Scarborough quickly clarified Trump was referring to having seen the potential of Trump’s campaign, not being political supporters.
