Morning Show Ratings: Week of Sept. 25

None of the three broadcast morning shows were able to deliver audience growth from the comparable week last year (week of Sept. 26, 2016).

ABC’s Good Morning America was No. 1 in total viewers for the week of September 25, while NBC’s Today show remained the go-to morning show among younger news viewers, including adults 25-54.

With its total viewer victory this past week, GMA has now been the most-watched morning show during fall premiere week for six straight years. That said, ABC’s morning show was -5 percent in total viewers and -10 percent in the news demo versus last year.


Today remains No. 1 among younger news viewers, winning its 92nd week in a row, which is the show’s best streak in more than five years. But the program saw a -17 percent decline among adults 25-54, and a -5 percent decline in total viewers from last year.

CBS This Morning remains in third place, but managed to post the least-severe audience decline relative to last year. The newscast was -1 percent in total viewers and -13 percent in the news demo.
