By A.J. Katz

Good Morning America and Today show split the morning show ratings race for the week of Nov. 11.

The most-watched morning show in total viewers, GMA drew its largest overall audience since the week of March 4, averaging 4.2 million total viewers. However, as we’ll note below, morning show ratings are only based on 3 telecasts, due to the House impeachment hearings last Wednesday and Friday.

GMA also managed to narrow its Adults 25-54 margin year-to-year with Today last week by 39% (112,000 vs. 185,000). Additionally, the Tuesday, Nov. 12 telecast of GMA was the show’s most-watched (4.38 million) since Feb. 25.

While GMA may remain the show which averages the largest total audience, Today continues to deliver the most adults 25-54.

The win in the demo marks 201 out of 203 weeks in first place. In fact, Today posted six-month highs in both total viewers and the key demo, delivering its largest audience since May and April, respectively.

CBS This Morning remained in third place across all relevant measurements.

Compared to the same week in 2018, each of the programs was down. GMA was -3% in total viewers, and -6% in the key A25-54 demo. Despite winning in the A25-54 demo, Today was -10% in the measurement, and -7% in total viewers. CBS This Morning was -10% in total viewers, and -11% among adults 25-54.

NOTE: ABC’s, CBS’ and NBC’s morning show weekly averages are based on three days (Mon, Tues and Thurs) due to the House Impeachment Hearings, which took place on Wednesday (Nov. 13) and Friday (Nov. 15).
