Morning Show Ratings: Week of May 29

By A.J. Katz

It was another split decision in the mornings, with Good Morning America coming out on top in total viewers and Today finishing No. 1 in the ad-friendly A25-54 demographic. But the ABC, NBC and CBS morning shows once again posted audience losses compared to the same week in 2016.

Despite its No. 1 finish, Good Morning America was -12 percent in total viewers from the same week last year. GMA was also -14 percent in the A25-54 demo. That said, season to-date, ABC’s morning show is No. 1 in total viewers, leading Today by +192,000 to take the top spot at this point of the season for the 5th year in a row.

Today was -12 percent among adults 25-54, and -10 percent in total viewers relative to the same week last year. Nevertheless, NBC has won the morning show race for 75 consecutive weeks in the demo, its best streak in more than four years.
