Morning Show Ratings: Week of May 25

By Chris Ariens

morning show anchors_640After two weeks of wins in the A25-54 demo, NBC’s Today show fell back behind ABC’s Good Morning America. GMA’s lead on Today was 132,000 demo viewers, its widest in 7 weeks.

GMA also maintained the lead in viewers with a +15 percent advantage over Today.

But once again the big growth story is about CBS This Morning. The show was up +29 percent in the demo and up +17 among total viewers compared to the same week last year, the only morning show to grow in these two categories. CTM is now in its closest competitive position with Today in nearly 21 years in viewers (since the week of August 15, 1994). CTM gained more than 500,000 viewers from a year ago, but still trails Today by 959,000 viewers.
