Morning Show Ratings: Week of June 18

By A.J. Katz

Once again, there was a split decision in the morning show weekly ratings race.

ABC’s Good Morning America finished No. 1 in total viewers for the week of June 18. Season to date, GMA is No. 1 in total viewers, leading Today by +53,000 (4.247 million vs. 4.194 million), taking the top spot at this point of the season for the sixth year in a row. But compared to the same week last year (which was the final week of Q2 2017), GMA was -4 percent in total viewers and -6 percent among adults 25-54.

NBC’s Today topped the morning show charts among younger news consumers this past week, including the coveted A25-54 demo for the 130th consecutive week (the show’s best streak in almost six years) and for 146 of the last 147 weeks. Yet Today was -5 percent in total viewers and -10 percent in the aforementioned demo versus the same week in 2017.
