Another week, a similar trend: GMA was the most-watched morning show for the week, Today ranked No. 1 among younger news viewers, and all three shows (including CBS This Morning) posted year-over-year audience losses.
GMA defeated Today by +164,000 total viewers during the week of June 11, narrowed its margin with Today among adults 25-54 and 18-49, and is presently the No. 1 morning show in terms of total viewers at this point in the season for the 6th year in a row.
But compared to the same week last year, the ABC morning show was -5 percent in total viewers and -7 percent in the key A25-54 demo.
For the 129th consecutive week, NBC’s Today was the No. 1 show among adults 25-54. That’s the program’s best streak in 6 years. Season to-date Today leads GMA by +159,000 A25-54 demo viewers, and leads CBS This Morning by +573,000 demo viewers.
But compared to the same week last year, NBC’s morning show was -5 percent in total viewers and -13 percent among adults 25-54.
CBS This Morning remains stuck in third place, and posted year-over-year losses of -8 percent among total viewers and -10 percent among adults 25-54.
