Morning Show Ratings: Week of February 10

By Chris Ariens

MorningShowNEWAs expected, the “Today” show won its first week in 18 months in both total viewers and the younger demo. But the other ratings story emerging from week one of the Sochi Olympics is that “Today’s” morning competition didn’t lose. Both “Good Morning America” and “CBS This Morning” saw their viewership grow year-over-year despite an Olympics boost enjoyed by NBC’s “Today” show.

“Today” saw the biggest growth of the three: up +30% in viewers and up +25% in the demo. ABC and CBS were each up +9% in viewers, while “GMA” was also up (+14%) in the demo. “Today” nudged longtime No. 1 “GMA” by +165,000 total viewers and +162,000 A25-45 demo viewers.

“Today’s” win comes as “GMA” and “CTM” retained nearly all of their audience from the week prior.
