Morning Show Ratings: Week of December 1

morningshowanchors2014ABC’s “Good Morning America” was the No. 1 morning show in both Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo last week, but only No. 3 “CBS This Morning” showed growth.

Compared to the same week last year, “CTM” was up +5% in viewers, while “GMA” was down -5%. No. 2 NBC’s “Today” show was also down -2% in viewers.

All three broadcasts lost viewers in the demo: ABC was down -10%, NBC down -11% and CBS down -7%. The same week last year included Sam Champion’s farewell to “Good Morning America.” Champion is coming up on one year with Weather Channel.

Season-to-date, “CBS This Morning” is the only network morning show with gains in total viewers, while “Good Morning America” is seeing its largest season margin over “Today” in the demo in 23 years – since the 1991-92 season.

The averages for the week of Dec. 1, 2014:

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 5.578M / NBC: 5.127M / CBS: 3.273M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 2.080M / NBC: 1.989M / CBS: 982K
