Morning Show Ratings: Week of Dec. 2

For the week of Dec. 2, NBC’s Today snagged the No. 1 ranking ahead of ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning. Today finished No. 1 not just among adults 25-54, but also in total viewers.

The win marks Today’s 7th total viewer victory over GMA and CTM for 2019, and its 2nd during the 2019-2020 season to-date.  The show also managed to double its total viewers lead from the comparable week in 2018. Additionally, Today has won 204 out of 206 weeks in the key A25-54 demo.

Despite finishing runner up to Today this past week in the key measurements, GMA continues to average the largest total audience of the three morning shows, both for the year and season to-date. In fact, GMA is more than doubling its advantage over Today versus last season (+177%) to its largest in 3 years – since the 2016-17 season. The ABC morning show remains No. 2 in the key A25-54 demo.

Compared with the same week in 2018, GMA was -7% in average total viewers, and -13% among adults 25-54. Today, while finishing No. 1, was also -7% in total viewers from last year and -12% in the demo. CBS This Morning was -9% in total viewers and -7% among adults 25-54.
