As is often the case these days, there was a split in the morning show weekly ratings race. For the week of April 8, ABC’s Good Morning America finished No. 1 in total viewers, while NBC’s Today held steady at No. 1 among adults 25-54.
Season to date, the ABC morning show has ranked No. 1 in the genre in total viewers for 7 consecutive years after finishing No.1 for the past six seasons.
NBC marked 172 consecutive weeks at No. 1 in the A25-54 demo. Today also won in total viewers last Wednesday and Friday.
Compared to the same week in 2018, ABC was -4% in total viewers, NBC was flat in total viewers, while CBS This Morning was -5%. In the A25-54 demo, ABC was -11%, NBC -7% and CBS -5% vs. the comparable week last year.
