By A.J. Katz

The final full week of April saw a familiar trend in the morning show ratings race: ABC’s Good Morning America was the most-watched morning show while NBC’s Today show was most-watched in the A25-54 demo.

Season to date, GMA is the No.1 morning show in total viewers, edging Today to take the top spot at this point in the broadcast season for the sixth consecutive year. But the program once again was -4 percent in total viewers and -10 percent among viewers 25-54 versus the comparable week in 2017.

With another demo win to wrap up April, Today has now finished No. 1 among adults 25-54, the go-to demo for news advertisers, for 122 straight weeks (or 32 straight months). Today actually managed to remain flat from the comparable week last year among total viewers, but still posted losses in the A25-54 category (-6 percent).
