I’m experimenting with a new method of reporting on the morning show wars: The blue and green approach. From NBC and ABC‘s respective press releases:
NBC:“NBC News’ ‘Today’ Remains The Morning Show Leader With 5.1 Million Viewers.”
ABC: “GMA Continues Rise As Fastest Morning Program; Only 470,000 Total Viewers Separate GMA And Today.”
NBC: “Season-to-date “Today” leads GMA by 566K viewers. The weekly win marks “Today’s” 502nd straight week in first place.”
ABC: “This marks the third consecutive week that the gap with NBC has been less than 500,000 Total Viewers.”
NBC: “Versus the same week last season, “Today” was up in total viewers (+1 percent), Rtg. A/W 18-49 (+6 percent/+10 percent) and Rtg.W25-54 (+8 percent).”
ABC: Compared to the same time last year, “GMA” cut the gap in Total Viewers by 34% and in Adults 25-54 by 53%.
