Morning Show Halloween Costumes: Who Wore It Best?

By Brian Flood

In what has become a yearly tradition, the morning shows went all out for Halloween. NBC’s Today show, ABC’s Good Morning America, HLN’s Morning Express and FNC’s Fox & Friends went all in with elaborate costumes ranging from classic TV characters to current presidential candidates and pop stars.

The hosts of Today went Peanuts with Matt Lauer tapping into his feminine side as Lucy, Savannah Guthrie as Sally, Al Roker as Charlie Brown, Carson Daly as the blanket-clutching Linus and Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford as Snoopy and Woodstock, respectively.

Natalie Morales dressed as the intellectual Marcie, Tamron Hall as Peppermint Patty,  Willie Geist as Schroeder and Meredith Vieira as a special, yet smelly, guest as Pig Pen.

On GMA the hosts went for a mix of current celebrities, including Robin Roberts and T.J. Holmes as Cookie and Lucious Lyon from the hit show Empire. After last year’s display of cooperate synergy, we were pleasantly surprised that the ABC morning show decided to go with characters from a Fox program.

In addition, George Stephanopoulos dressed as Ed SheeranAmy Roach went as Taylor Swift, Ginger Zee as The Hulk and Lara Spencer dressed as GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.

GMA’s weekend anchors even got in on the fun with Paula Faris as Katy Perry, Ron Claiborne and Rob Marciano as Perry’s famous shark sidekicks, Dan Harris as Harry Potter and Sara Haines as Barbie with Nick Lachey serving as her Ken.

Fox & Friends went as breakfast foods with Steve Doocy as sizzling bacon, Elisabeth Hasselbeck as an egg and Brian Kilmeade as cereal, Maria Molina as a donut with sprinkles and Heather Nauert dressed as coffee.

FNC

Morning Express with Robin Meade gang dressed as the Scooby Doo castBob Van Dillen dressed as Fred Jones, Brian Mcfadden as Shaggy, Meade as Velma, Jen Westhoven as Daphne and CNN’s Wolf Blitzer makes a special appearance as the wolf man.

It seems the Today crew loves playing dress up. Just yesterday, Geist and Roker wore old-timer swimming costumes while Hall and Morales dressed as Katy Perry’s sharks to take the Pink or Swim challenge and get dunked for breast cancer awareness.
