For the week of Dec. 26, The Today Show averaged 5.1 million viewers, while Good Morning America had 4.3 million and The Early Show had 2.7 million.
In the 25-54 demo, Today led GMA by 33 percent,” NBC’s press release says. ABC, meanwhile, is more focused on the year in review:
GMA delivered “its best calendar year ever in 2005 — highest delivery in both total viewers and adults 25-54 dating as far back as Nielsen Media Research’s electronic database,” ABC’s headline says.
GMA was “the only morning show to grow from 2004-2005 with an impressive 15 percent increase in the Adults 25-54 demographic and 7 percent increase in total viewers,” ABC adds. “NBC’s Today and CBS’ Early Show declined in both categories.”
