Morning Answers

Good Morning America’s new series “GMA Gets Answers” is proving it really does. The Chris Cuomo reports are taking on the insurance industry, helping viewers get the answers they need. This morning, the show updated the story of a boy named Liam who needed a motorized wheelchair — his insurer would not cover. But after the GMA report, Liam not only got his wheelchair, but the insurer changed their policy on motorized wheelchairs.

The show also recently profiled the story of a Brooklyn boy named C.J. who had a heart attack at age three and needed a genetic test to determine course of treatment. He’s covered under Medicaid but, due to stalled paperwork, wasn’t going to get the $5,400 test. Cuomo’s report on the NY state Dept. of Health has meant changes in their approval system. And C.J. will get the test he needs in the next 30 days.
