Les Moonves tells the Boston Herald he’s not doubting his decision — “Not for a second” — to have Katie Couric anchor the CBS Evening News. “We think the show is great. We think she is great. We think the numbers are going to improve, but we think our product is as good as anybody else’s… And I’m still extremely happy that we made the move.”
And, he says, the ratings have “nothing to do with Katie.”
Moonves also was asked about Dan Rather’s lawsuit: “It’s old news and we find there’s no merit to the lawsuit. That’s all I’m going to say.”
