Mike Huckabee talks with CNN’s John King about the ‘big wall’ at Fox News

Former Arkansas Governor now Fox News weekend host Mike Huckabee is making the rounds promoting his new book, A Simple Government… and one of the stops is at CNN. Last night, Huckabee talked with John King about the book, his 2012 presidential aspirations and what it’s like to work at Fox News.

King: I work at CNN, you work at FOX News; and because of that, only when you write a book do we get to sit down and have a conversation. What is it like there?  You have Governor Palin, Speaker Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Governor Huckabee.  Do you guys have practice debates in the green rooms?

Huckabee:  You know, I rarely — in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever bumped into Sarah Palin ever at FOX.  I rarely ever see Rick Santorum, cause he’s always in D.C.  I occasionally see Newt, who is a good friend and I will bump into him from time to time.

But the one thing about FOX that people miss is that there really is this big wall between the news guys and the program guys. I mean, I’m on the program side. I don’t pretend to be objective, I’m not. But I would say our — our news guys, they’re objective. You know, the Bret Baiers and the Shepard Smiths and — and Bill Hemmers, you know, they do their job, they do it over there on their side of the wall.
