Mika Brzezinski Adds U.S. Women’s Hockey Gold Medalists to Her Know Your Value Team

Mika Brzezinski is extending her Know Your Value brand. Earlier this week, the MSNBC Morning Joe co-host announced a multi-platform partnership in conjunction with NBCU and 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics gold medalists Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando, both of whom starred on the U.S. women’s ice hockey team. The twin sisters have been named contributors for Know Your Value, the NBC News digital platform that provides advice and support to women. They will also join the Know Your Value roster of speakers at conferences across the country.

Lamoureux-Davidson and Lamoureux-Morando caught up with TVNewser.

“We are honored to be a Know Your Value contributor in partnership with Mika and everyone at Comcast NBCU,” stated Lamoureux-Davidson. “This is an important platform for women and we look forward to using it to continue the conversation about equality and empowerment.”

Not only did the duo help the U.S. capture the gold medal in Women’s Ice Hockey, but they’re also outspoken advocates for gender equality.

In 2014, the Lamoureux twins were trailblazers in their team’s fight for fair and equal treatment by USA Hockey. They fought for additional pay and benefits more in line with the men’s team, fought for additional funding for girls youth hockey programs, as well as fairer training and marketing support for women’s hockey.

The women’s team and USA Hockey were able to reach an agreement two days before the 2017 World Championships.

Currently, the sisters are trying to form a single women’s professional league for North America, ideally with the backing of the NHL. (Currently there are two small pro women’s hockey leagues, one in Canada and one in the US).

Lamoureux-Morando entered the broadcasting ranks last month as a studio analyst on the NHL Network’s flagship studio show, NHL Tonight.
