Midterms: WX Delays Couric’s DC Arrival

By Brian

When Rumsfeld resigned this afternoon, I asked: “Where was Katie Couric?” It turns out she was traveling to Washington. After Bush’s presser, there was “a nice transition to Katie from Harry Smith, and then a segue to Bob Schieffer,” an e-mailer says. (Smith blamed “a very stormy day on the East Coast” for the delay.)

“With this special report so far, and last night, Couric’s really beginning to show her depth of knowledge on these issues … proving to me at least that she’s no light weight,” an e-mailer says.

Couric hosted the 3:30pm special report for Bob Gates‘ introduction.

> Nora Ephron: “It’s impossible for me to make any sort of evaluation at all about her, BECAUSE I CAN’T BELIEVE HOW BAD HER MAKEUP IS…”
