Midterms: The Evening News Intros

By Brian

Brian Williams: “Tonight American voters decide the direction of their nation. By this hour, almost all of the shouting is over and all eyes tonight are on the American electorate.”

Charles Gibson: “Good evening. This is going to be a fascinating night. An election day is always a great day for a democracy. We are going to learn a great deal tonight about how Americans feel about the war, about the president, about taxes, immigration — the list is long. And voter opinions passionately held.”

Katie Couric: “Hi, everyone. Well, it’s election night, and voters all over the country are deciding who will control the new Congress.” After summing up the balance of power, Couric said: “Polls are still open in much of the country. If they’re open where you are and you haven’t voted, please do. Then, come back to CBS and watch your vote count.”
