Midterms: CNN Tops FNC In 25-54 Demo

Primetime: FNC edged CNN among total viewers, but CNN was tops in the key 25-54 demo. CNN averaged 1,330,000 demo viewers while FNC had 1,253,000. Among total viewers, FNC delivered 3,060,000 viewers and CNN had 2,971,000. MSNBC had 893,000 demo and 1,949,000 total viewers.

“Sales prime,” 7pm to 2am: CNN was #1 during the duration of its “America Votes 2006” special coverage. CNN averaged 1,171,000 demo viewers, while FNC averaged 989,000. Among total viewers, CNN had 2,541,000, ahead of FNC’s 2,391,000. MSNBC had 754,000 demo and 1,579,000 total viewers.

Total day: CNN topped Fox News for the full day in the demo. In the demo, CNN averaged 509,000, slightly ahead of FNC’s 497,000. Among total viewers, CNN averaged 1,220,000 and FNC averaged 1,285,000. MSNBC placed third with 336,000 demo and 723,000 total viewers overall.
