NBC’s eagerly awaited ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’ premiered in September, with 13.1 million viewers – the same month as Couric’s evening newscast began, and with almost as large an audience. By the end of February, NBC yanked ‘Studio 60,’ after viewing levels plummeted to 6.1 million — right about where Couric’s are now.
