Former “Today” show anchor, and current “Rock Center” contributor Meredith Vieira is nursing a sore hand after a contestant on another show she hosts, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” gave her a high-five that required some medial attention.

Toward the end of today’s show, contestant Lee Yanco got a little overly-excited and slapped Vieira’s right hand, which caused her to wince in pain, muttering, “Ow, ow, ow. You hit me so hard.” As she returned from a commercial break, Vieira had a bandage on her hand. “It is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life,” she told the audience. “The ‘Millionaire’ doctors, bandaged me. I’ll be fine. I took one for the team,” said Vieira, joking, “My lawyer will call you. I hope you make a lot of money.”
