Melissa Kondak Leaves CNN for NBC

By A.J. Katz

Melissa Kondak is joining NBC News as the new Supervising Digital Producer for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, effective September 26. Sam Singal, executive producer of Nightly News, made the announcement yesterday in an internal memo to staff.

“Melissa is a digital-first thinker with strong experience in editorial and marketing, making her a perfect fit as we continue to innovate and grow the Nightly News presence across platforms,” said Singal.

Kondak comes to Nightly from CNN, where she was most recently the coordinating producer of video development for CNN U.S. In that role, she oversaw digital video for CNN’s films, series and special projects, and led the digital and social strategy for the launch of CNN New Day.

Kondak is no stranger to NBC News, as she previously spent seven years at the Peacock in a number of roles, including Brand Marketing Manager.
