Megyn Kelly Meets With Donald Trump

Fox News Channel host Megyn Kelly didn’t land an interview, but she did talk to Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, who she met with earlier in the day. “We met for about an hour, just the two of us, and had a chance to clear the air.”

Speaking on The Kelly File, Kelly said Trump was “gracious,” and that she hopes to be able to book Trump for an interview–though it didn’t happen today. “Stay tuned,” she said.

Fox News has previously confirmed that FNC chairman Roger Ailes has spoken to Trump “a few times over the past three months” about appearing on a special Kelly will be hosting on the Fox broadcast network May 23.

Wednesday morning, Kelly was spotted by NBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin arriving at Trump Tower and being escorted upstairs by members of Trump’s staff.

Later in the day, the network confirmed Kelly had requested–and been granted–a meeting with Trump, but the nature of the meeting was left for Kelly to reveal on her show.

The meeting represented a cease-fire of sorts in the feud that has essentially been a one-man show, with Trump taking every opportunity to insult Kelly, in television interviews and on Twitter. Kelly, however, has been notably restrained in her comments about Trump. Earlier this month she did say she would “absolutely” welcome Trump on her show.
