The suspended NBC News anchor is part of an elaborate welcome sign that includes Mark Twain, Tommy Hilfiger and others. According to LoHud.com, the mayor’s received “more than a dozen” calls from residents asking that Williams be removed from the sign.
The mayor, however, is not budging:

“He is one of the more well-known people, and he has come back to Elmira on occasion for celebratory things,” Skidmore said. “Everybody makes mistakes.”
She added, “The bigger question is where do you get the money to take it down and who decides who goes back up?”
