May 2016 Ratings: HLN Grows in Prime and Day

As the network again shifts gears–this time moving back toward its roots as a news network–HLN points to growth in mornings and weekends, and a milestone: the second-highest total day demo delivery in the network’s history.

HLN was up 10 percent in Monday-Sunday prime compared to May 2015, and up 9 percent in total day. HLN posted an increase of 6 percent in the demo compared to the same month last year.

The average impressions for May 2016 (Nielsen Live+Same Day Data):

  • Primetime (Mon-Sun): 323,000 Total Viewers / 109,000 A25-54
  • Total Day (Mon-Sun): 281,000 Total Viewers / 115,000 A25-54

The network’s key news franchise, Morning Express with Robin Meade, ended May 2016 with double-digit gains, up 19 percent among total viewers (M-F, 6-9 a.m. ET) and up 14 percent in the demo. Weekend Express with Lynn Smith also reported gains (up 13 percent among total viewers and up 9 percent in the demo).
