The testimony, verdict, sentencing phase and hung jury in the Jodi Arias trial boosted HLN to the second most-watched cable news channel in Total Day for May. HLN more than doubled its total viewing audience compared to the same month last year. The network was up +97% in younger viewers in primetime.
The ratings for May 2013 (Nielsen Live + Same Day data):
- Primetime (Mon-Sun): 494,000 Total Viewers / 175,000 A25-54
- Total Day (Mon-Sun): 624,000 Total Viewers / 209,000 A25-54
On Wednesday, May 8, HLN was the top-rated network in all ad-supported cable in younger viewers as the Arias verdict came in.
