TVNewser has learned Matt Saal is returning to MSNBC to be the executive producer of the network’s 9pmET show, Live with Dan Abrams. Most recently Saal has been senior broadcast producer for NBC Nightly News’ weekend editions. Previously, he was EP of Scarborough Country. And while there’s a change in networks, the commute will be the same. Abrams (and most MSNBC shows) will begin broadcasting from 30 Rock a week from today.
Saal is married to CBS News correspondent Kelly Wallace. Wallace and Saal are expecting their second child in less than two weeks.
