NBC announced Thursday that Today co-host Matt Lauer has been chosen to moderate the upcoming “Commander in Chief Forum” with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

The town hall event, announced two weeks ago, will focus on military affairs and feature both Trump and Clinton, who will appear separately.

The forum, dubbed “the first joint candidate event of the general election,” will air live at 8 p.m. ET from New York’s Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum on both NBC and MSNBC Sept. 7th.
