These are screenshots of CNBC and FBN at 6:41amET Friday. From 6-9amET, CNBC airs Squawk Box and FBN airs Money for Breakfast. But during Money for Breakfast, a few times each show the team breaks into a segment also called Squawk Box.
A CNBC insider downplayed the similarity, saying, “It is highly unlikely that anyone will notice.”
Update: An FBN insider tells TVNewser, “Anyone in finance knows that ‘Squawk Box’ is a commonly-used term on Wall Street — since when does CNBC own the rights to Wall Street lingo? After all, they’re not concerned about us, right?”
