In an interview with us last month, Martha MacCallum promised her new program The First 100 Days would stand out from other Fox News programs. “We will try to get feedback from people in a town hall environment, and voter reaction to how they think the president-elect is doing,” MacCallum told us.
The Fox Newser is delivering on her promise, and with month No. 1 of the Trump presidency now complete, the show’s first town hall takes place tonight in Jacksonville, Fla. It will air live on Fox News during MacCallum’s 7 p.m. hour. The town hall broadcast will feature a dialogue between elected officials, including Miami Dade County’s Republican mayor Carlos Gimenez and Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis, as well as multiple immigration lawyers and Florida voters on the issue of immigration in the context of jobs and national security. Immigration was (and continues to be) an important issue for Floridians. MacCallum will also be joined by White House senior adviser Stephen Miller.
In the lead-up to the town hall, Fox News’ Steve Harrigan will report live from Florida on how the immigration issue is affecting voters in the Sunshine State.
