Marsha Cooke to Head Up CBS Newspath

By Chris Ariens

Marsha Cooke, a 23-year CBS News veteran, has been tapped to oversee CBS Newspath, the network’s affiliate news service.

“Newspath needs to be the most competitive affiliate newsfeed, maintain excellent client relationships, and look for digital opportunities wherever possible,” said CBS News president David Rhodes in announcing the news. “Marsha’s career as a manager from Beijing to the broadcast center—and her recent experience at CBSN—make her the ideal colleague to continue these priorities as an executive.”

Cooke joined CBS News first in the Los Angeles bureau. She’s had stints in Tokyo and Beijing, at CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley, and most recently has been executive editor at CBSN.
