Marni Hughes to Anchor New Daytime News Program at NewsNation

NewsNation is adding a new daytime news program, as it continues to build out its programming across all dayparts.

NewsNation Live with Marni Hughes is set to premiere on Sept. 19—and will air from 9 am-12 pm ET. James Holm, who oversees NewsNation’s Early Morning, will also serve as the new show’s executive producer.

According to Holm, “Marni will present a fast-paced look at events of the day with the perspective and nuance of a national news show.”

“NewsNation Live with Marni Hughes,” which will rely on NewsNation’s team of reporters across the country, will feature exclusive reporting by senior national correspondent Brian Entin during its premiere week. He will visit key battleground states in the November mid-term elections, to determine the most important issues to voters.

Hughes is a NewsNation original, having been with the network since its launch in 2020. She anchored NewsNation’s first show, a three-hour prime-time national newscast, alongside Joe Donlon, Rob Nelson, and Albert Ramon.

She most recently anchored the weekend newscast of NewsNation Prime alongside Leland Vittert.

“Having been at NewsNation since its inception, I am grateful to have shared so many important stories that have impacted people on both a local and national level,” said Ms. Hughes. “As I prepare for my latest role as host of NewsNation Live, I am really looking forward to continuing to shine a light on the headlines and issues that matter most to our viewers.”

“Marni Hughes is an award-winning veteran journalist and an experienced anchor—who has been a vital part of NewsNation since its launch two years ago,” said Michael Corn, the company’s President of News. “We are thrilled she will play an integral role in our latest daytime expansion.”

With the addition of Hughes’ new show, NewsNation’s weekly news programming will go up to 96 hours.

The network has been aggressively expanding its programming output and capabilities over the past few months. Chris Cuomo will launch a new show later this fall—and the network is building new production facilities in New York City and Washington, D.C.
